Softening is to improve the elasticity and plasticity of the oil by adjusting the moisture content, temperature, etc. of the oil to achieve the best rolling conditions.
The purpose of softening is to adjust the oil temperature and moisture content, make the oil have appropriate elasticity and plasticity, reduce the phenomenon of powder loss and roller sticking during rolling, and ensure the quality of defective sheets. Softening can also reduce the wear of the oil on the roller and the vibration of the machine during rolling, so as to facilitate the normal rolling operation.
The softening equipment we commonly use is the layered softening pot and the horizontal softening pot. The softening equipment is an important part of the oilseed pretreatment production line.
For example, soybeans have low oil content and poor plasticity; the rice husks contained in cottonseed kernels make the particles inconsistent in hardness and softness. In order to obtain suitable particles and reduce the wear of the rice husks on the rollers; although rapeseed is a high-oil crop, the particles are small and the surface is hard. For rapeseed with a moisture content below 8%, it must be softened before calendering. For other high-oil crops, such as peanut kernels, hemp kernels, and coconut kernels, they are generally calendered directly without softening to prevent oil leakage, sticking to the rollers, and other undesirable phenomena during calendering after softening.
We can provide the whole oilseed processing line, and the softener is only a part of the pre-treatment section. Our engineers can also help you choose the most suitable equipment according to your raw materials and needs. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
