Project Overview
Location: Eastern Europe
Project Type: Integrated oilseed processing plant
Project Model: EPC turnkey project
Designed Capacity: Sunflower seeds: 500 TPD, soybeans: 350 TPD
Main Products: Refined dewaxed sunflower oil, refined soybean oil, sunflower meal, soybean meal
Client Background and Project Objectives

Eastern Europe is one of the world's important oilseed production regions, with abundant supplies of sunflower seeds and soybeans. The client has long been engaged in agricultural product trading and oilseed processing. In order to increase product value and expand production capacity, the client planned to build a modern large-scale oil processing plant.

The key objectives of the project included:

  • Establishing a flexible production line capable of processing both sunflower seeds and soybeans
  • Producing export-grade edible oil products
  • Building a highly automated oil processing plant with reduced labor dependence
  • Achieving high oil recovery rates and optimized energy consumption

Therefore, the project required reliable equipment, stable processing technology, and a high level of automation.

Overall Engineering Solution

Based on the client's requirements, QIE GROUP adopted a mature and efficient processing route:

Pretreatment & Pre-pressing + Solvent Extraction + Continuous Refining + Dewaxing

Considering the different physical characteristics of sunflower seeds and soybeans, the processing lines were optimized separately, ensuring: High oil yield, stable production performance, consistent oil quality.

Automation and Control System
The entire plant is equipped with a PLC + SCADA automatic control system.
A central control room monitors: pretreatment, solvent extraction, refining, and dewaxing.
Key parameters are acquired in real time, allowing a single person to operate the entire production line.
QIE Group provides: Engineering design → Manufacturing → Installation → Commissioning → Training → After-sales support.
Project Results

After commissioning, the plant achieved the following performance indicators:

  • Residual oil in sunflower pre-press cake: ≤ 18%
  • Residual oil in extracted meal: ≤ 0.5%
  • Residual solvent in crude oil: ≤ 50 ppm
  • Acid value of refined oil: ≤ 0.2 mg KOH/g
  • Peroxide value of refined oil: ≤ 2 meq/kg
Project Value

The successful completion of this project demonstrates QIE GROUP’s comprehensive engineering capabilities in large-scale oilseed processing plants, including:

  • Delivery of 500 TPD multi-oilseed processing projects
  • Full process integration from pretreatment to dewaxing
  • High automation and stable production performance
  •  High oil recovery and premium oil quality

This project provides a proven and scalable engineering model for future large-capacity oil processing plants.
