100TPD Copra Oil Solvent Extraction Plant Project

QIE GROUP completed a 100TPD copra oil solvent extraction plant project with a 60TPD coconut oil bleaching system, providing the customer with a complete solution for industrial-scale coconut oil production.

Located in a major coconut-producing region, the customer planned to utilize locally available copra resources to establish a commercial coconut oil processing facility. The project required a production line capable of efficient oil extraction, solvent recovery, and further oil quality improvement.

Based on the characteristics of copra processing, QIE GROUP provided a turnkey solution integrating copra pretreatment, solvent extraction, and coconut oil bleaching technology, covering process design, equipment supply, and technical support.

The customer aimed to build a reliable coconut oil processing plant with the following requirements:

• Process locally available copra on an industrial scale.

• Improve oil recovery compared with traditional processing methods.

• Establish continuous production with reliable operation.

• Improve crude coconut oil quality through further treatment.

• Obtain a complete engineering solution from design to commissioning support.

Copra contains a high level of oil, making it suitable for large-scale oil extraction.

For industrial coconut oil production, solvent extraction technology can provide higher oil recovery compared with pressing-only methods, especially when processing large quantities of oil-rich materials.

For this project, QIE GROUP selected a continuous solvent extraction process to achieve:

• Efficient oil recovery from copra.

1. Copra Pretreatment System
The pretreatment section prepares copra before extraction through:
• Material conveying
• Crushing
• Conditioning
The process improves material uniformity and creates suitable conditions for solvent extraction.

2. 100TPD Copra Oil Solvent Extraction System
The extraction section adopts continuous solvent extraction technology.
Main functions:
• Extract oil from prepared copra efficiently.
• Separate oil from extracted meal.
• Provide stable operation for continuous production.
The extracted miscella is further processed through evaporation and stripping systems to obtain crude coconut oil.

3. DTDC Desolventizing System
After extraction, the wet meal enters the DTDC system.
The system is designed to:
• Remove residual solvent.
• Dry and cool copra meal.
• Improve meal handling and storage conditions.

4. Solvent Evaporation and Recovery System
The miscella processing route:
Miscella → Evaporation → Stripping → Crude Coconut Oil
The solvent recovery system helps reduce solvent loss and improve overall process efficiency.

5. 60TPD Coconut Oil Bleaching System
Part of the crude coconut oil enters the bleaching section.
The activated clay bleaching process helps:
• Remove pigments and impurities.
• Improve oil color.
• Enhance finished oil quality.

Copra Receiving → Pretreatment → Solvent Extraction → Wet Meal Desolventizing → Meal Cooling → Copra Meal

Coconut Oil Treatment Process
Miscella → Evaporation → Stripping → Crude Coconut Oil → Bleaching → Finished Coconut Oil
